Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 banana sliced (fresh or frozen)
  • 3/4 cup coconut milk from a can or carton
  • 1/2 cup coconut water or regular water
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup optional
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes as needed for thicker texture
  • Toasted coconut flakes for garnish

Method

  1. Prepare ingredients: Measure out the frozen pineapple and banana slices. If you prefer a thicker, creamier smoothie, use frozen banana.
  2. Add to blender: Place the pineapple, banana, coconut milk, coconut water, honey, and vanilla extract in a blender.
  3. Blend until smooth: Blend on high speed for 30–45 seconds until creamy and frothy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more coconut water. If too thin, add a few ice cubes and blend again.
  4. Taste and adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness with more honey or maple syrup if desired. The natural sweetness from the pineapple and banana usually makes it perfect as is.
  5. Serve: Pour into chilled glasses and top with a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes or a small pineapple wedge for garnish.
  6. Optional: For a protein boost, add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, hemp seeds, or a scoop of vanilla protein powder before blending.
