- In a medium saucepan, bring milk to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Stir in oats, cinnamon, and salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
- Add diced apple and raisins. Continue cooking 5–7 minutes until oats are creamy and apples are tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup.
- Divide oatmeal into bowls, sprinkle with walnuts, and serve with extra cinnamon and honey if desired.
