- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Spread evenly into the prepared dish.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm.
